Kansas claims another Big 12 tournament title
Shay Wildeboor JayhawkSlant.com
Kansas City, Mo. -- Bill Self and No. 1-ranked Kansas (32-2, 18-1) couldn't have scripted Saturday's Big 12 Tournament Championship game any better. Facing No. 9-ranked Kansas State (26-7, 13-6) for the third time this season was one thing, but doing so with so much at stake only made the game between the in-state rivals that much more important. The Jayhawks, in leading wire-to-wire, defeated the Wildcats, 72-64. Kansas not only captured another postseason crown, but also assured itself of being the top overall seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament. It's only fitting that Sherron Collins, playing in his final Big 12 Championship, was named the Most Outstanding Player.
